On the 2nd July, Ben and Dom attended the annual Pedro Bessa Summer Grading and were fortunate enough to be promoted to purple and black belt respectively.
Ben receives his purple belt after winning medals at numerous comps at blue belt, often having to step up a weight or down an age category to get a match and he does it without complaint. As well as competing, Ben spends a lot of his time teaching a number of children in the local area in conjunction with local schools, in the hope of helping them learn a new life skill.
Dom receives his Black Belt after 10+ years training with the Craig Ewers team. Dom has competed at every belt level from white to brown, winning medals at every grade.
Dom has gone from white to black belt under Craig, and now hold the honour of being the first and only black belt teaching in the Vale of Glamorgan.
Huge congratulations to the other students promoted at the grading, especially Jamie Tungate and Josh Hudson who also received their black belts.
